Brief:

Gary Montgomery lives in Shawnee, Oklahoma and is of Seminole heritage. He is a member of the Masters Category of the Five Civilized Tribes Museum in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He has won numerous awards and is a participant in the prestigious Aspen/Snowmass Celebration for the American Indian benefiting the Smithsonian Institute's Museum of the American Indian. His artwork is exhibited throughout North America, Europe and Japan.

He was raised attending church and tribal functions. He was raised speaking his native tongue and didn’t learn to speak English until he began attending elementary school. Gary lives in Shawnee, Oklahoma with his wife Linda (of 34 years), daughter Dene’ and granddaughter Charis. He attended East Central University majoring in art and physical education and has been painting professionally for over 30 years.

Gary's paintings convey emotions and gentleness, along with mystical and spiritual feelings.
